Background: Although population trends have led more people to be at risk than in the past, cataclysmic natural events are no more common now than they've ever been.
Task: As a class, we will investigate various forms of natural disaster. Each group will be responsible for researching a specific historical event and creating an informational poster. Posters should contain the following:

• Event Title
• When did the event occur?
• Where did the event occur? (Do you want to include a map?)
• Costs - loss of life / property damage
• Summary of safety measures that could have prevented such damage
• Images or artistic renderings of the event
• Other relevent information: First-hand accounts of the event would be especially useful! You might also include scientific data such as measurements, graphs, charts, etc.
